Especially in the month of June nearly every weekend an interesting cyclosportive is organized in this area.
For those of you who do not know what a cyclosportive is yet: a cyclosportive is non competitive cycle ride with open registration but with timing and placing. You just need to be 18 years or older and have a medical certificate (or a cycle license). The best and fastest are really good and often there are (ex) pros at start line but you can also have a relaxed spin. All is done and everything is ok.
The cyclosportive best known in France is no doubt Le Marmotte in Bourg d'Oissans. but who does not feel like starting very early in the morning together with thousands of other cyclists but prefer a nice cyclosportive with something like 500 participants and a 9:00 am start some of the other cyclo's could be a nice alternative.
